Karl Malone sucks at life.

First he told his illegitimate son, Demetrius Bell, that it was too late to be his father - at the venerable age of 18 - and now Fanhouse (via The Buffalo News) is reporting that Malone impregnated Bell's mother when she was 12 or 13 and he was a sophomore at Louisiana Tech.

What's the statute of limitations for statutory rape? I'd look it up myself but I'm afraid my censor overlords at work would see the search on my web usage and throw me out immediately (No, really: a search for "NBA Lottery" was blocked because the system thought I was looking up gambling sites). I would have to think it's an open and shut case: Malone has basically admitted to being Demetrius' father, and simple math will tell you how old Demitrius' mother was when she gave birth to him.

Thankfully the Bells' story appears to have a happy ending. But I don't think most stories like this do, and I hope Malone has to pay for his horrible actions.

Update: Malone cannot be tried on charges of statutory rape; the statute of limitations has expired. (Ed. note: Damn!)
